With offices across multiple countries and time zones, the firm provides corporate global visa services in over 100 countries. WR is one of the fastest growing immigration service providers worldwide with over 50 attorneys and 200 immigration professionals working out of offices in Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Oakland, Petoskey, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Monica, and Shanghai.


Associate Attorneys work alongside Legal Assistants, Paralegals, Team Managers, Partners, and other Associates to prepare and file a variety of business-related non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions, including taking a leading role in client communication, working closely with legal support teams to ensure understanding of general and specific case strategies, and conducting high-level case reviews of work done by legal support teams.

We are looking to add an Associate Attorney focused on compliance to our growing team; remote applicants will be considered, with preference given to candidates who are able to work according to Mountain Time Zone business

hours.


Responsibilities:

  • This role differs from a traditional Associate Attorney position by focusing heavily on multi-agency compliance, I-9 audits, drafting and preparing responses to government investigation or inquiry and program-level advisory work.
  • Analyzing government inquiry and Requests for Evidence and timely drafting and submitting related responses
  • Analyzing audit results and communicating options to address clients' business immigration needs
  • Maintaining timely and accurate lines of communication with clients both during and after the application process to provide support with immigration program management and compliance
  • Supervising and collaborating with supporting staff to ensure compliance
  • Maintaining accuracy for high volume, rapid turnover cases
  • Assisting clients and staff with questions throughout the filing process
  • Other duties as required


Requirements:

  • Valid membership in an applicable Bar association
  • 5+ years serving as a primary point of contact for clients on compliance matters
  • 5+ years advising corporate clients on immigration compliance strategy and program management
  • 5+ years of business immigration experience
    • Strong knowledge ofa variety of case types, including NIV (H-1B, TN, L, E, B, etc.) and IV (PERM, IV, AOS)
  • 5+ years' experience handling I-9 audits, internal investigations, and government enforcement actions
    • Supporting and advising on I-9 compliance programs, including internal audits and remediation strategies
    • Conducting I-9 investigations and responding to government inquiries
    • Developing and implementing client compliance policies and best practices
    • Advising clients on risk mitigation and immigration program compliance
    • Experience with E-Verify
    • Experience with FDNS/site visits
    • Experience building or scaling compliance programs
  • RFEs - Drafting and responding to complex RFEs and NOIDs, including developing legal strategy and arguments
  • Proven track record of success in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Experience managing multiple competing priorities independently
  • Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills
