Job description

*Preference to Wisconsin residents as we are not offering a relocation incentive.
**We are not using agency help to support this requisition, all inquiries will be unanswered.
Job Summary:
This position provides engineering, design and drafting for residential and light commercial HVAC systems. Must be able to make occasional site visits with other TSI personnel and/or TSI customers. This position reports to the Engineering amp; Design Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate HVAC load calculations using TSI software (Elite CHVAC amp; Elite RHVAC)
  • Preparation of HVAC systems proposals /bids for use by TSI customers / clients / contractors.
  • Preparation of plans and calculations that are to be submitted to the State of Wisconsin or delegated municipalities for HVAC plan review and approval, or residential plans for contractors and homeowners/builders.
  • Interact with potential and current customers, TSI employees, state of WI, and sales personnel to address design concerns.
  • Use of AutoCAD for mechanical systems drawings.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations.
  • Promotes and maintains a flexible cooperative, positive, team-oriented attitude with and between departments and end users.
  • Ensures timely, accurate, proper records, files, databases, etc. are developed and maintained for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Provides and maintains billing for projects for which the designer is the principal professional.
  • Open and willing to perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills:
  • State of Wisconsin active license
    • Designer Of Engineering Systems
    • Or Professional Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Three to five (3-5) years or more of experience in HVAC engineering systems design or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of AutoCAD or similar CAD program experience.
  • Preferred to have some hands-on experience of HVAC systems installation or similar construction experience.
  • Must possess excellent mechanical aptitude and mathematical abilities, a desire to learn, and natural curiosity for science and the natural world.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, organization, customer relations, problem solving and other follow-through skills.
