Job Title: HVAC-BMS Controls Technician

Location: New York City Metropolitan Area
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HVAC-BMS Controls Technician to install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain, and commission HVAC and building management system (BMS) controls across commercial, industrial, and healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, wire, configure, and commission BMS/HVAC control systems.
  • Troubleshoot controllers, sensors, actuators, network devices, and control systems.
  • Perform field diagnostics, calibrations, start-ups, and preventive maintenance.
  • Read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and sequences of operation.
  • Use multimeters, manometers, laptops, and diagnostic software for testing.
  • Support system commissioning and ensure proper system performance.
  • Document completed work and communicate system issues and recommendations.
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, technicians, and clients.
  • Follow all jobsite safety procedures and manage field assignments independently.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with HVAC controls, BMS/EMS, or building automation systems.
  • Knowledge of HVAC operation, control sequences, and energy-efficient strategies.
  • Experience with controls installation, wiring, start-up, and commissioning.
  • Basic understanding of networking and controls software.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
