Mechanical Engineer - Mid-Career

BL is expanding and seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems to assist in the design, development, and execution of MEP projects from concept through to completion.

The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of MEP engineering experience and will support the mechanical aspects of MEP projects, ensuring designs meet industry standards while contributing to high-quality, efficient solutions.

In this role, you will work closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to project success while developing your skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Systems:

  • Assist in the development of flow diagrams for mechanical systems

  • Perform heat load and static pressure calculations

  • Support in sizing equipment and ductwork to meet project specifications

Electrical Systems:

  • Assist in designing basic one-line risers

  • Support in specifying fire alarm devices

  • Contribute to lighting and control plans, ensuring compliance with design standards

  • Help determine power and feeder requirements for mechanical systems

Plumbing Systems:

  • Assist in selecting fixtures and components

  • Contribute to pipe sizing and routing for sanitary, storm, gas, and domestic systems

  • Ensure systems have proper venting and service sizing

Fire Protection:

  • Support in designing risers and planning sprinkler head locations for projects

Qualifications:

  • 4-7 years of experience in MEP engineering

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)

  • Strong technical skills and willingness to develop project management abilities

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Understanding of federal and state codes governing MEP design
