Entry-Level HVAC Estimator – Engineering Graduate

Location: Portland, Hampden, or Lewiston, ME

Position Type: Full-Time

Candidates may be based at any one of our three Maine locations: Portland, Hampden, or Lewiston.


About the Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated recent engineering graduate to join our growing commercial HVAC team as an Entry-Level HVAC Estimator.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an engineering degree who is interested in beginning a career in the commercial HVAC industry. You will receive hands-on training in HVAC estimating, equipment selection, blueprint reading, quoting, project coordination, and customer support.

No previous HVAC experience is required. Training will be provided.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparing estimates and quotations for commercial HVAC projects.
  • Review construction drawings, plans, and specifications to identify project requirements.
  • Learn to select and cross-reference commercial HVAC equipment and materials.
  • Assist with equipment pricing and preparation of competitive customer proposals.
  • Work closely with experienced HVAC professionals and the sales team to support customer projects.
  • Communicate with manufacturers and vendors regarding equipment specifications, pricing, and availability.
  • Assist with processing customer orders and purchase orders.
  • Coordinate equipment and material deliveries as needed.
  • Maintain accurate estimating, pricing, and project documentation.
  • Respond to customer questions and provide professional project support.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, systems, and applications.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related engineering field.
  • Recent engineering graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • No prior HVAC experience required.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in HVAC, mechanical systems, construction, or estimating.
  • Willingness to learn how to read construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and general computer applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
