Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive HR Generalist to be the foundational HR presence in our New York City office. In this role, you will provide comprehensive HR support across operations, recruitment, and employee relations, while also taking ownership of local office management and facility logistics. This role requires a "hands-on" approach to ensure our NYC hub operates seamlessly and supports our broader global Talent strategy.

The HR Generalist will act as the on-site anchor for our NYC location. You will bridge the gap between our physical workspace and our distributed HR teams. You will execute critical HR operations locally, contribute to recruitment efforts, support our HR Business Partners, and manage junior office staff to maintain an exceptional hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • HR Operations & Local Compliance
    • Serve as the primary on-site executor for onboarding and offboarding logistics, including IT equipment tracking, desk setups, and initial day-one orientations.
    • Maintain accurate employee records and data integrity, ensuring compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, with particular attention to New York State and New York City requirements.
    • Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and local resources, escalating to specialized team members when necessary.
  • Office Leadership & Management
    • Take full ownership of the NYC office environment, ensuring it remains highly functional, welcoming, and "tour-ready" 5 days a week.
    • Manage, mentor, and direct an Employee Experience Intern (or part-time admin), overseeing their daily execution of catering, supplies, reception, and vendor management.
    • Drive local culture by coordinating employee engagement events, executive visits, team offsites, and local marketing/recruiting events.
  • Recruitment Support
    • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to facilitate an on-site candidate experience, handling interview scheduling adjustments, room logistics, and hosting.
    • Assist with local sourcing and screening for administrative, entry-level, or NYC-specific roles as needed.
  • HRBP Partnership
    • Be on the ground, partnering with HR Business Partners providing localized insights into team morale, engagement, and potential employee relations issues.
    • Assist in rolling out global HR initiatives, performance management cycles, and training programs to the NYC population.
    • Provide ad-hoc scheduling and administrative support for senior leadership and executive meetings held in the NYC office.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or in a similar People Operations role.
  • Demonstrated experience taking on office management or facility logistics within an HR capacity.
  • Prior experience managing, mentoring, or directing junior staff, interns, or administrative personnel.
  • Strong understanding of foundational HR principles and localized employment compliance.
  • Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of handling confidential information with absolute discretion.
  • Ability to work on-site in the New York City office 5 days a week.
