The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for acting as a finance expert and trusted partner to the Head of Accounting. The role provides day-to-day expertise in financial accounting, management reporting, governance, and cross-functional financial support. They ensure the integrity, transparency, and consistency of financial information and support decision-making across the organization.
Your role in our team
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring accuracy and compliance with HGB/IFRS/local GAAP and corporate policy
  • Review accounting entries, accruals, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure high-quality financial statements and management accounts including commentary on key movements and risks
  • Support consolidation, intercompany accounting, and statutory reporting
  • Serve as liaison to banks and audit firms
  • Prepare and review management reporting including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and cost center performance
  • Ensure alignment between statutory accounting and management reporting
  • Provide senior-level financial insights including variance and trend analysis
  • Act as guardian of financial governance, policies, and internal controls
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of findings
  • Monitor compliance with accounting standards, corporate guidelines, and legal regulations
  • Identify financial risks and control gaps and implement corrective actions
  • Act as senior finance partner for operations, procurement, HR, projects, and corporate finance
  • Provide solid guidance to non-finance teams on accounting treatments and implications
  • Collaborate with international finance teams ensuring consistent accounting practices
  • Support ERP-related finance processes (SAP preferred) including optimization and standardization
  • Participate in finance transformation, digitalization, and process automation initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement in workflows, documentation, and reporting quality
  • Support change management and adoption of new systems
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Show a strong eagerness to learn and a positive attitude everyday
  • Work on special projects as needed
  • Take responsibility across divisions for assigned tasks and topics

Your profile
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • 8+ years progressive experience in finance and accounting
  • Hands-on ERP experience (SAP preferred)
  • Professional certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA)
  • Experience in multinational or matrixed organizations
  • Experience with finance transformation or system implementation
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial controls
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to partner with and influence stakeholders non-hierarchically
  • Solid understanding of technical accounting and reporting principles
  • Leadership capability with ownership mindset and attention to detail
  • Advanced MS skills
