Job Title

Process Improvement Engineer

Position Overview

This role blends industrial engineering, data analytics, and continuous improvement, giving you the opportunity to directly influence plant performance and decision-making.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparation of the plant annual budget and maintain product costing
  • Analyze plant performance data and provide recommendations based on reporting, observations, and time studies
  • Partner with Plant / Department Managers to improve manufacturing processes across efficiency, safety, quality, and cost
  • Identify and support cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Serve as Plant Data Champion by creating, automating, and maintaining tools (Splunk, Excel, Power Automate, etc.)
  • Transform plant data into actionable insights that support operational and financial decisions
  • Support inventory accuracy and identify opportunities in material flow and usage
  • Assist with BOMs, materials, and orders within systems (USF2 or similar ERP)
  • Partner with Green Belt / Black Belt teams and participate in CI initiatives
  • Serve as Waste Champion and support plant-wide process improvement programs (CITI)
  • Assist in development of process improvement tools and training of team members
  • Support co-ops, OMTs, and cross-functional teams as needed
  • Perform other duties as directed by the IE Manager

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor's Degree (Industrial Engineering or related field preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret and act on data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); ability to learn data and automation tools
  • Interest or experience in continuous improvement / Lean manufacturing environments
  • Ability to communicate insights and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Must be able to manage time effectively and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to learn systems, tools, and plant processes
  • Willingness to complete Green Belt / Black Belt and CI training
  • Ability to travel for training and work overtime as needed
