Job description

Where multiple locations are listed for this role, the position may be based in any of those locations, with priority determined according to the order of listing.
We're looking for a People & Operations Intern to help build how Simular works as a company; not just behind a desk, but out in the world. You'll support hiring, onboarding, IT compliance, office management, and employee experience, while also representing Simular at hackathons, career fairs, and community events.
This is a great role if you want to see how an early-stage AI company actually runs, from the inside out. This role requires a full-time commitment.
What you'll do
Hiring & Talent Engineering
• Support the full hiring pipeline: post roles, screen resumes, coordinate interviews, follow up with candidates
• Help with onboarding new hires: equipment, accounts, welcome materials, first-week logistics
• Represent Simular at career fairs, university events, and recruiting meetups
Events & Community
• Help organize and attend hackathons, tech meetups, and industry events
• Coordinate team events, offsites, and internal culture moments
• Be a face of Simular at external events: you'll meet candidates, partners, and community members in person
Operations & Compliance
• Help find and manage office spaces
• Assist with IT compliance: device management, security policies, access controls
• Coordinate with external vendors: insurance, IT providers, and other service partners
• Support employment compliance across multiple jurisdictions: contracts, visa applications, labor law requirements
• Maintain employee records and keep things organized
AI & Process Automation
• Identify repetitive ops workflows and help automate them using AI tools, no-code platforms, or scripts
• Build and maintain internal automations: onboarding checklists, compliance reminders, candidate pipeline tracking
• Develop your AI literacy by working daily with AI agents and LLMs as part of how we operate
• Help the team stay on the frontier: test new AI tools, share what works, and document best practices
You might be a fit if
• You're organized, detail-oriented, and can juggle multiple tasks without dropping balls
• You communicate clearly and professionally
• You're proactive; you see something that needs doing and you do it
• You're curious about AI and eager to build real AI literacy, not just use LLMs, but understand how AI tools can transform workflows
• You're comfortable with ambiguity and figuring things out on your own
• You're a people person who's energized by events and face-to-face interactions
• You care about building a great workplace, not just running one
Bonus
• Prior internship in HR, people ops, or startup environments
• Experience organizing events, clubs, or student organizations
