To thrive as a Household Assistant, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in household management or related roles. Familiarity with cleaning equipment, scheduling tools, and sometimes a valid driver’s license or basic first aid certification is typically required. What are household assistants?

Household assistants are professionals who help manage and maintain the daily operations of a private home. Their typical duties may include cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, running errands, and sometimes assisting with childcare or pet care. Household assistants can be employed on a part-time or full-time basis depending on the needs of the household.

What are some common challenges faced by Household Assistants, and how can they be managed effectively?

Household Assistants often juggle multiple tasks, from cleaning and organizing to running errands and assisting with meal preparation. A common challenge is managing time efficiently while adapting to changing priorities or unexpected requests from household members. Building strong communication skills and a proactive approach can help manage these challenges, ensuring tasks are completed to the employer’s satisfaction. • Manage pantry systems and household inventory
  • Implement and maintain organizational systems

Laundry & Linen Management

  • Full-cycle laundry oversight (as assigned)
  • Linen rotation and bedding maintenance
  • Closet and storage optimization

Home Logistics

  • Coordinate grocery runs and household supply procurement
  • Oversee deliveries and vendor access when needed
  • Support household readiness for events, travel, and school transitions
  • Manage small operational projects independently

Occasional Family Support

  • Brief child supervision if required
  • Comfortable working in homes with children and pets

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Household Manager, House Manager, or Executive-Level Household Assistant
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Strong organizational systems mindset
  • High level of discretion and professionalism
  • Excellent communication and follow-through
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
  • Ability to pass background screening and employment clearances

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30–50 pounds (groceries, storage bins, laundry baskets, etc.)
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and move throughout a multi-level home
  • Physically capable of maintaining an active, hands-on household role

Professional Standards:

We are seeking a candidate who:

  • Anticipates needs without waiting to be asked
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times
  • Takes pride in operational excellence
  • Values consistency and long-term stability
  • Understands boundaries in professional households

Employment Details:
