Job description

Coordinates and evaluates all nursing services in accordance with established policies, procedures and nursing standards. Responsible for and coordinates activities for all departments of the hospital in the absence of department managers and Administration. Acts in compliance with hospital, Nursing Department policies/procedures and the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Ohio.

Follows WCH Nursing Philosophy and practice model which are derived from the Synergy model and appropriate Service Standards as outlined in Employee Handbook.Licensed in Ohio As of September 2012, a BSN is required for any nurse promoted to a house supervisor position. Nurses without a BSN who are currently in the role are required to enroll in a BSN program by September 2014 unless they will have 20 years or more of experience as an RN or LPN by September 2017. Nurses with more than 20 years of experience by September 2017 will be grandfathered and will not be required to complete a BSN

Maintain a current AHA (American Heart Association) Healthcare Provider BLS card while in this position. 3 years current inpatient hospital experience Demonstrated initiative/problem solving abilities ACLS within 1 year of hire, and maintain while in position PALS within 1 year of hire, and maintain while in positionLicensed in Ohio As of September 2012, a BSN is required for any nurse promoted to a house supervisor position.
