Job description

As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing company payrolls, providing timely and accurate financial information, and participating in daily payroll and systems related administration. Reports to Director of Shared Services.

  • Prepare and process bi-weekly payrolls for multiple company codes.
  • Balance timesheets and manual payroll transactions to payroll system reports and resolve any issues prior to processing payroll.
  • Perform daily payroll department operations in compliance with internal and external payroll administration policies/procedures.
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of assigned time and attendance and/or scheduling system(s).
  • Research payroll questions and inquiries and communicate with various levels of employees and leaders to resolve any issues.
  • Review time and attendance data for reasonableness and coordinate with managers and staff to ensure timecards and schedules are accurate and approved in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and distribute reporting related to payroll, scheduling, and time and attendance.
  • Assist Payroll Services team with system testing and maintenance and other payroll-related projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Experience

  • 4+ years HR/Payroll or similar experience required
  • ADP or other time and attendance system experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High level of data entry accuracy and speed, good computer skills, basic math skills and excellent customer service skills required
  • Familiarity with labor laws, tax reporting, and restaurant payroll a plus

Licenses / Certifications
CPP is a plus
 

Physical Requirements

Speak and hear to communicate and use both near and far vision. Frequently sit with some walking and standing for office/property navigation. Frequently lift/carry up to 5 lbs. Continually use gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills for computer use.

Working Conditions

In-office position based in a corporate environment with individual workspaces and shared common areas which support focused work while encouraging regular interaction among colleagues. Moderate background noise typical of a collaborative office setting.
