JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY: The Holiday Inn Independence is looking for an experienced hospitality industry Controller to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the accounting/finance operations for the hotel. The qualified individual will be an experienced controller in decentralized accounting operations. Responsible for overseeing all financial operations of assigned Hotels in compliance with local and state tax laws and Hotel's Standard Operating Procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Responsible for overseeing the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cash Management, Night Audit functions, Monthly P&L preparation, Annual Budget preparation, Short and long term forecasting, Cash Flow forecasting of assigned properties.

Responsible for making sure properties overall accounting and financial management requirements are being met.

Responsible for verifying financial reports to ensure transactions are accurate and act as liaison with hotel owner and management company.

Able to effectively implement accounting and cash control policies and procedures.

EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Requires management/supervisory skills and excellent communication skills.

Proficient in computer programs such as Excel, Word and Outlook.

*Demonstrated experience in handling hotel budgets.

*Must be able to prioritize tasks.

*Must be dependable & unquestionably honest

Salary based on experience.

Must have minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in the hospitality arena at a full service hotel. * Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
