Job description

JOB PURPOSE: The Contract Coordinator will facilitate and coordinate with hospital's departments to identify trends, prioritize and recommend improvements, decrease duplication, and ensure compliance. The Contract Coordinator will also investigate incident reports, patient complaints, patient care issues, and other issues as requested by the Chief Medical Officer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintains oversight and ultimately responsible for performance objectives set by OVP Health for hospital contract.
  • Ensures chart completion and timely filing of medical charts.
  • Coordinates and assists medical directors in daily functions, which may include administrative duties.
  • Cultivates and maintains environment of positivity and collaboration.
  • Works as liaison with all hospital departments on issues related to OVP Health Providers.
  • Works as liaison with all hospital departments related to new hire orientation for all OVP Health Providers.
  • Coordinates with the hospital QI program to meet the needs of patients, staff, and external agencies.
  • Provides QI leadership and consultative services to hospital administration and OVP Health providers in effectively achieving regulatory accreditation and organizational compliance for QI activities.
  • Organizes, compiles, and reports QI data for both OVP Health providers and hospital departments to identify trends, establish priorities, and recommend improvement activities.
  • Performs comprehensive, concurrent, and retrospective reviews in a timely manner, using criteria developed and approved by OVP Health BOD.

AS APPLICABLE: Serves as a working member of the hospital's quality council; attends medical staff department and committee meetings and other pertinent meetings to ensure the organization's overall QI plan implementation and compliance.
  • Keeps abreast of current JCAHO standards and other accreditation standards, and the latest quality techniques in health care.
  • Rounds on patients as needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare field preferred.
  • Two years of healthcare experience in clinical or non-clinical setting.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to access internet at home.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • An RN degree with healthcare administration background and/or Bachelor's in Healthcare Administration.
  • At least two years of healthcare experience with one year in medical/surgical setting.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
  • Functional and situational reasoning ability to gather and apply factual information, exercise sound judgment, problem solve and apply principles of influence systems such as motivation, team building, accountability, coaching/counseling of staff and leadership within the scope of the position.
  • Mathematical Aptitude for budgetary, funding, cost benefits analysis and general business purposes.

TRAVEL
This position requires 30% travel by auto.
