Description & Requirements
The Telehospitalist Physician at WFBH will be a part of the Section of Hospital Medicine at AH WFB. The Telehospitalist Physician will be responsible for patient care through the Hospital at Home program and other innovative telemedicine that comes through this program. The HaH program provides virtual acute care to patients and is supported by paramedics, Nurse navigators and other ancillary staff. The Telehospitalist physician will be expected to provide supervision to credentialed APCs who are providing care to patients through the HaH program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Position may involve duties which are not listed.
1. Provide medical care to patients.
2. Diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of the human internal organs.
3. Examine patients (limitation expected due to virtual nature of the service provided),
4. Conduct/order diagnostic tests,
5. Analyze the results and prescribe indicated treatment therapies including medications and Physical
Therapies.
6. Consult with other physicians, when needed.
7. Assist in patient education and goal setting.
Training and/or Experience Required
Qualifications and Professional Requirements:
1. 2 years of experience as a hospitalist. Outpatient experience in addition to 2 years as a hospitalist is a plus.
2. MD or equivalent degree and License to practice in NC.
3. Must maintain a DEA license
4. Should be able to get credentialed at one of the AHWFB hospitals for inpatient care.
5. Should maintain IP Hospital Medicine practice.
6. Treats all members of the patient care team with respect and dignity
7. Complies with all policies and protocols of HaH and AHWFB
8. Attends HaH business meetings regularly.
9. Brings a problem-solving attitude and is ready for ongoing change of a program built for flexibility.
10. Provides patient centered care with dignity and compassion.
11. Maintains and ensures patient confidentiality at all times
12. Reports to work on time and as scheduled
13. Attends annual review and performs departmental in-services
14. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner
15. Attends committee, CQI and management meetings, as appropriate
16. Resolves staff concerns at the departmental level, utilizing the grievance process as required
17. Ability to work independently
18. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
19. Completes medical records in a timely manner as per Organization policies.
