TheMarket Development Manager(MDM)is responsible forincreasing market share and brand preference of Generac's residential ecosystemsolutionwithin thespecifiedterritory. This roleactively prospectsnew business opportunities and convertssolarand generatorinstallers into Generac customerswho resell Generac'sPWRmicrosolar andPWRcell2energystorage solutions, as well as other Generac ecosystemproducts (includinghome standby generatorsandecobeesmart thermostats).

In this role, the MDM develops and executesstrategic regional customer development strategies and drives product adoption through Generac's existing distribution network to supportend-market demand.

Territory Coverage: Mid-Atlantic U.S. states

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, engage, and convert solar, storage, and generatorinstallation companies into Generac ecosystem customers
  • Planand implement sales strategies to maximize share and margin;effectively differentiate Generac products in competitive sales environments
  • Expandthecustomer base byidentifyingnew partners and developing new customer opportunities
  • Build andmaintainarobustpipeline of new key account opportunities; role is80% new account development and 20% account management
  • Build strong relationships with established key accountsandinternal support teams tofosterlong-term businessgrowth
  • Maintainaccuratesales records, CRM entries, and activity updates to support forecasting and performance tracking
  • Collaboratewith sales and business leadership to developand execute business plans aligned with key account grown initiatives
  • Provide market feedback and competitive intelligence tosales and business leadership
  • Maintainconsistent follow-up on opportunities to drivetimelyand effective closes
  • Communicateeffectivelywith Generacsales team members to ensurea coordinated approach to account acquisition and support

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • 1+ years of experience in sales, marketing, customer service, or solar industry exposure
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with customer service orientation
  • Basic proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to travel 20-40% within assigned territory
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to learn technical concepts and explain them to varied audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solar industry familiarity or demonstrated interest in renewable energy
  • Previous B2B sales, business development, or account management experience
  • Technical aptitude for understanding power electronics and electrical systems
  • Experience with prospecting tools, lead generation, or sales automation platforms
  • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish preferred in certain territories)

Office Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionallylift upto 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Up to 75% travel and valid Driver's License required.
