Position Summary
A boutique law firm in Miami is seeking a Family Law Attorney with at least three years of experience to manage a portfolio of family law matters from intake through resolution. This is a high-autonomy role with meaningful client contact and courtroom exposure. The position can be structured as fully remote or hybrid.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a caseload of family law matters, including dissolution of marriage, child custody and time-sharing, child and spousal support, paternity, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
• Draft pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, and discovery.
• Conduct depositions and represent clients at hearings, mediations, and trial.
• Counsel clients with empathy and clear communication through emotionally sensitive, high-stakes situations.
• Develop case strategy, negotiate settlements, and advocate effectively in contested litigation.
• Manage deadlines, court filings, and case documentation accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with paralegals, support staff, and colleagues to deliver responsive service.
Qualifications
• Licensure: Active member of The Florida Bar in good standing.
• Experience: 3+ years of family law experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage matters independently.
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Florida family law statutes, procedure, and the local court system.
• Skills: Excellent written and oral advocacy, negotiation, and client-counseling skills.
• Work style: Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working autonomously in a remote or hybrid setting.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bilingual English and Spanish (native or near-native fluency).
• Florida Bar Board Certification in Marital & Family Law, or progress toward it.
• Familiarity with probate matters.
• Comfort with cloud-based case management and e-filing tools.
