Sales Representative
 

Overview

We are seeking a motivated Sales Representative to drive sales growth, increase market share, and develop long-term customer relationships within an assigned territory. This role is primarily field-based and involves visiting customers at their businesses and active jobsites, identifying opportunities, selling new and used heavy construction and paving equipment, managing equipment rentals, and converting rental customers into equipment purchasers.

Key Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of your time in the field visiting customers and active jobsites within your assigned territory.
• Sell, rent, and lease new and used heavy construction and paving equipment.
• Manage rental fleet utilization and identify opportunities to convert rentals into equipment sales.
• Develop new business while maintaining and growing existing customer relationships.
• Conduct in-person sales calls, product demonstrations, and presentations.
• Prepare quotes, negotiate pricing and financing options, and close sales.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to generate repeat and referral business.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of available equipment, features, and applications.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity and communicate findings to management.
• Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity using CRM software.
• Coordinate with service, parts, rental, finance, and accounting teams to ensure an outstanding customer experience from initial inquiry through delivery and ongoing support.
• Assist customers with financing and leasing options.
• Meet or exceed sales, rental, conversion, and gross profit goals.
• Attend trade shows, customer events, and ongoing product and sales training.
• Manage sales-related expenses responsibly.
• Maintain assigned company vehicle and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of sales or equipment rental experience in the construction equipment industry or a related field preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of heavy construction or paving equipment is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated success developing new business and managing an assigned sales territory.
• Understanding of pricing, margins, financing, and leasing concepts.
• Experience using CRM software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to analyze sales reports and market trends.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends.
