Position Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Service Manager's is responsible for overseeing a team of mechanics as well as our full-service maintenance facility in Bohemia, NY. Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing the performance, repairs, and utilization of the company equipment. Monitoring equipment for proper use and overall condition to ensure productivity. Expedite maintenance and repair to maximize work rate of company equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee Service Department personnel including washmen and shop mechanics.
• Regular communication with the Parts Department.
• Comply with and enforce all Shop safety rules.
• Attends weekly Shop Meetings and holds daily rollcall with Mechanics.
• Hold daily debriefing meetings with Service Writer and Shop Manager.
• Monitor all reports concerning rental and owned equipment. Implements proper solutions for maintenance, service, repair, and warranty claims.
• Assist the Service Writer in confirming and approving Mechanic time.
• Oversee Work Order closing process. Review Work Orders for accuracy, and the appropriateness of parts and labor.
• Hold weekly meetings with the Assistant Shop Manager and Parts Coordinator to address any issues.
• Walks yard and shop daily to ensure cleanliness and organization.
• Must have strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Required to drive company vehicle.
• Review and complete Equipment Inspection/Information Forms.
• Confirm readiness of equipment.
• Use of computer and B2W system (Equipment Maintenance software).
• Schedule/dispatch Mechanics to perform repairs based on individual skill set of each mechanic.
• Articulate and communicate all field service calls with service team.
• Able to perform duties with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to manage high volume workflow.
• Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis.


Qualifications:
• Heavy Equipment Service Experience: 5+ years (Preferred).
• Technical knowledge of heavy equipment operation and repair.
• Must be proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
• Valid Drivers License Required.
• OSHA 30 Hour Construction Course Required.
• Ability to lead people and get results through others, as well as experience in managing multiple employees.
• Strong communication skills are required.
• Strong time management skills are required to ensure the productivity of the department.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
• This position is typically an indoor/outdoor position within heavy construction environments. Following established organizational health and safety protocol is essential.
• Service Managers must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50lbs.
• Bending, sitting, kneeling, standing, climbing, and stacking are essential functions of the position.

Schedule:
• Monday to Friday.
• On call as needed.

Reports to: Corporate Shop Manager
Location: Bohemia, NY and Site Visits as needed

Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000
