Job description

Position Title: Sales Representative – Healthcare
Department: Healthcare Sales
FLSA Classification: Salary Exempt
Reports to: Director of Healthcare Sales
Positions Supervised: None
Position Summary:
The Healthcare Furniture Sales Representative is responsible for developing and growing business opportunities within the healthcare market, including hospitals, health systems, ambulatory care facilities, physician practices, behavioral health facilities, senior living communities, and other healthcare environments. This individual will cultivate relationships with healthcare decision-makers, architects, designers, contractors, and vendor partners to identify opportunities, develop furniture solutions, and secure profitable business.
The ideal candidate is a proven proactive sales professional who understands the healthcare environment and can effectively navigate complex projects from initial opportunity identification through installation and project completion. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, strategic thinking, consultative selling, and collaboration with internal teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development amp; Sales
  • Develop and execute territory and account plans to achieve annual sales, margin, and market share objectives.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within healthcare facilities and systems.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with healthcare executives, facility leaders, procurement teams, clinicians, architects, designers, and construction partners.
  • Promote healthcare furniture solutions that support patient care, caregiver efficiency, infection prevention, safety, and wellness.
  • Generate leads through networking, industry events, professional associations, referrals, and strategic partnerships.
  • Conduct customer presentations, product demonstrations, and solution-based sales engagements.
Account Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales cycle and project lifecycle.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client goals, operational challenges, and facility requirements.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure a high level of satisfaction and ongoing relationship development.
  • Support post-installation follow-up, warranty coordination, and issue resolution as needed.
Project amp; Proposal Development
  • Collaborate with design, project management, client services, and vendor partners to develop comprehensive furniture solutions.
  • Coordinate product selections, specifications, budgets, pricing, and quotes.
  • Review project requirements and prepare accurate and compliant proposals, bid responses, and RFP submissions.
  • Participate in project planning meetings and assist with project execution to ensure a successful client experience.
Healthcare Market Expertise
  • Maintain knowledge of healthcare furniture trends, clinical environments, industry regulations, and emerging care models.
  • Understand healthcare purchasing processes, GPO contracts, cooperative purchasing agreements, and procurement methodologies.
  • Leverage knowledge of contracts such as Vizient, Premier, HealthTrust, and other purchasing organizations to identify competitive advantages and drive sales growth.
  • Stay current on healthcare design trends, evidence-based design principles, and furniture applications for patient care environments.
Business Planning amp; Reporting
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and accurately forecast opportunities and revenue.
  • Update customer relationship management (CRM) systems with sales activities, opportunities, forecasts, and client interactions.
  • Participate in sales meetings, training programs, strategic account reviews, and industry events.
  • Monitor market activity, competitive developments, and healthcare construction opportunities within assigned territories.
  • Prepare periodic reports regarding sales performance, forecasts, and business development activities.
Other Duties
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
  • Represent the organization professionally within the healthcare and commercial interiors industry.

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and develop business in a consultative sales environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience using CRM platforms and sales tracking systems.
  • Ability to travel throughout assigned territory and attend industry events as required.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Interior Design, or related field.
  • 3-5+ years of healthcare sales experience.
  • Experience in contract furniture, healthcare furniture, architectural products, construction, healthcare real estate, or related industries.
  • Knowledge of healthcare procurement processes and GPO contracts.
  • Understanding of healthcare design, furniture systems, interior environments, and facility operations.
  • Existing relationships within healthcare systems, design firms, contractors, or healthcare networks.
