About the job:

Impartially provides education about the availability of health insurance plans available to the recipient. Facilitates theenrollment process in the various health coverage programs offered by the HIE department. Provides information in aculturally and linguistically appropriate manner to the population being served by the HIE department.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's in healthcare, Business, Marketing, Social Work and /or Behavioral Science or Business-related Degree highly preferred. 1-2 years Health insurance, Patient Scheduling, Patient Access, Patient registration, Patient Navigation, Patient Care Coordination, Compassionate Care, Health Related Field, Social Services, Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security Eligibility enrollment experience highly preferred.

Licensure: Must have or acquire a Resident Producer Insurance license, with the applicable state Department of Insurance for, Life & Health Insurance License within 30-90 days of employment, required. Is required to maintain an annual CMS Medicare / America's Health Insurance Plan certification for the applicable selling year. Required to maintain annual carrier certification with each appointed carrier. Valid Indiana, or applicable state driver's license and proof of valid automobile insurance.

Experience: Minimum of 1-2years experience in Health Insurance Sales, Medicaid Eligibility, Children's Health Insurance Program, Health Care Patient Accounts, Patient Access/ Patient Registration, experience working with the disparate populations, and knowledge of state and federal aid programs highly preferred. Prior on-the-job training in medical clerical or compassionate skills is helpful. Prior leadership or management skills preferred.

Other Job Requirements:
1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. These communication skills must foster teamcollaboration, ownership, and accountability. 2. Ability to handle conflict and confront challenging issues in a fast paced
work environment.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills, cooperation, tact and diplomacy are required to influence others to act appropriatelyboth internally and externally to the department. Must demonstrate a cooperative demeanor and be comfortable
interacting with a wide variety of people.
4. Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office products.
5. Cannot have had the following denied, suspended or revoked: insurance agent or broker license, Indiana or MichiganNavigator certification or any other equivalent license or certification.
6. Cannot have been convicted of a disqualifying felony or other crime, including any unfair trade practices or fraud inthe insurance business.
7. Must provide own transportation and be able to travel and work at various locations.
8. Assigned hours within your shift, starting time, or days of work are subject to change based on departmental and/ororganizational needs
