Roles may include policy development, program management, research, or community engagement to promote fair and just healthcare. These positions exist in hospitals, nonprofits, government agencies, and academic institutions. The goal is to ensure everyone has the opportunity to achieve optimal health regardless of their background.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Health Equity position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Health Equity role, you need a strong background in public health, data analysis, program management, and a thorough understanding of health disparities and social determinants of health; a degree in public health, health administration, or a related field is often required. Familiarity with data analysis software (such as SPSS, SAS, or Excel), community health assessment tools, and sometimes certifications like a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) are advantageous.
