About The Role

APCON is seeking a Hardware Engineer II with strong experience in board level digital hardware design. This role focuses on designing the physical electronics that power our network visibility and switching products, including embedded processors, switch ASICs, DDR4 or DDR5 memory subsystems, and the surrounding high speed digital circuitry. Our products run on Linux based embedded platforms and are used across a wide range of industries.

What You Will Do

  • Design and develop digital hardware circuits Integrating embedded processors, switch ASICs, DDR4 or DDR5 memory, SRAM, and supporting digital logic
  • Create schematics and guide PCB layout with attention to signal integrity and power integrity • Implement and validate SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, and other digital peripheral interfaces
  • Perform board bring up, hardware and board debugging
  • Collaborate with software, FPGA, and manufacturing teams to ensure hardware and software integration
  • Support sustaining engineering and hardware improvements across product lifecycles

What You Bring

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three to six years of digital hardware design experience
  • Experience integrating embedded processors or switch ASICs
  • Strong understanding of high-speed digital design principles
  • Ability to read schematics, guide PCB layout, and debug hardware at the board level
  • Experience with network switching hardware or other complex embedded systems
  • Experience with SERDES, high speed interfaces, or multi gigabit signaling
