Job Description & Core Responsibilities


Department: Grill

Reports to: Grill Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Grade: Grade 1

Starting Wage: $15.00 - $17.00

Gaming Class: Non-Compact/Non-Gaming

Position Summary:

The Grill Cashier maintains a working knowledge of products, company return policies and current coupons to ensure that the customers pay the appropriate amount for each item they purchase. The Cashier is responsible for ringing up customers using the POS system, entering accurate information in the payment terminal, bagging up purchases, passing out food and providing friendly customer service to encourage their return.


Core Duties and Responsibilities:

The Grill Cashier is responsible for the following duties:

  • Provide quality guest service at all times.
  • Process sales transactions.
  • Accept payment.
  • Calculate and return change when required by the payment method.
  • Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change
    when needed.
  • Answer customer questions about products.
  • Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts.
  • Report issues with equipment.
  • Work as a team to meet grill and customersโ€™ expectations.
  • Handle customer complaints.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness for a comfortable and safe environment.
  • Assist in stocking and rotating food products.
  • Be neat in appearance and in uniform.
  • Know cleaning products and how to use them.
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned work area(s); cleaning lobby tables/floor, display glass and
    condiment table.
  • Fill out temperature log sheets properly and report any potential dangers or hazards.
  • Keep all cleaning equipment and tools in good working condition, report when repair parts are
    needed.
  • Empty garbage and recycling containers, bring trash and recycling to designated area(s) and
    place in the appropriate containers, break down boxes and place in designated containers.
  • Keep trash and recycling area clean and in order.
  • Report all injuries or cuts immediately to lead person, Supervisor, or Manager on shift, fill out
    necessary paperwork.
  • Perform extra duties on slow shifts, (daily, weekly, and monthly).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job-specific abilities and requirements include:

  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Involvement of back activities; bending,
    turning, and lifting.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to endure warm work temperatures.
  • Ability to tolerate various scents, noises, and bright lights.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion from use of the POS System.
  • Ability to crouch, crawl, and kneel.
