Job description

Description:

Backed by Callaway Golf and Danny Meyer’s Enlightened Hospitality Investments, Five Iron blends world-class technology with hospitality-driven service across its sports bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues. With 35 locations open and more than 50 in the pipeline worldwide, the brand is expanding its reach while remaining rooted in innovation, inclusivity, and community connection.

Five Iron Golf is seeking a Golf Coach. This individual is primarily responsible for delivering high quality golf instruction and will report directly to the General Manager of Performance.

Five Iron Golf is redefining the way people experience golf. By combining our passion for the game with cutting-edge technology like TrackMan and Callaway Tour Fitting, we help every golfer — from beginners to seasoned competitors, reach their full potential in a fun, inclusive, and tech-driven environment.

We’re not just a golf facility; we’re a community that celebrates learning, improvement, and connection. Our coaches are the heartbeat of that community, ambassadors who bring energy, expertise, and excitement to every lesson.

The Role

We’re looking for a Golf Coach who is passionate about helping others improve their game while delivering an exceptional experience. This position reports directly to the General Manager of Performance and plays a key role in developing lasting relationships with our members and guests.

As a Five Iron Coach, you’ll balance high-quality instruction with engagement time, working closely with our Social and Performance Teams to introduce golfers to lessons, fittings, and memberships. As you grow your client base and achieve performance goals, you’ll transition into a full-time instruction role, supported by our Coach Development Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver best-in-class golf instruction through individual and group lessons for players of all skill levels.
  • Utilize TrackMan and other Five Iron technologies to provide data-driven, personalized coaching and custom club fittings in partnership with Callaway Tour Fitting.
  • Actively engage guests during Golf Experience Engagement Time — promoting lessons, swing evaluations, fittings, and memberships.
  • Build and retain a loyal client base by creating welcoming, memorable, and performance-driven experiences.
  • Represent Five Iron Golf at corporate events, delivering fun, high-energy instructional sessions.
  • Maintain a consistent lesson schedule that meets productivity goals and performance expectations.
  • Leverage social media to promote your coaching services and the Five Iron brand.
  • Conduct junior clinics and support community outreach programs to grow the game.
  • Follow up with students to convert swing evaluations into ongoing lessons and achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Serve as an on-floor Performance Expert, engaging with members to elevate their overall golf experience.
  • Participate in ongoing education and certification programs to continually sharpen your coaching skills.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of golf industry experience or graduation from a PGM program.
  • Proven one-on-one and group coaching experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of swing mechanics, ball flight laws, and launch monitor data.
  • Proficient with video analysis and comfortable with golf technology tools.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to connect with golfers of all skill levels and explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Energetic and engaging personality with the ability to facilitate fun, group-based learning experiences.
  • Driven to learn, grow, and help students achieve measurable improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • PGA or LPGA affiliation and/or PGM program graduation are strong pluses.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs for extended periods.
Why Join Five Iron Golf

At Five Iron, we’re serious about supporting our coaches, both on and off the course.

We offer:

  • A set schedule with two days off per week for true work-life balance.
  • Additional time off for tournament play, so you can keep competing if you choose.
  • Eligibility to become a Callaway Staff Member.
  • Access to the Five Iron Coach Development Program, including free certifications:
