Job description

At Christ’s Church Academy, we pursue excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts while helping students know Jesus, be transformed by Jesus, and live on mission with Jesus. We’re looking for an Academic Advisor to guide our Upper School students and families through course planning, scheduling, and every phase of the college application journey.

If you’re an organized, relational educator who loves walking with students toward their future, we’d love to meet you.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Upper School Principal, the Academic Advisor supports the CCA Upper School academic program through course selection and student scheduling, and guides students and parents through the full college application process — including applications, essays, resumes, testing, and scholarship opportunities. You’ll also serve as CCA’s College Board and Common App Coordinator and as a member of the Academic Review Committee. This is a full-time, 12-month exempt position based on campus.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support the Upper School academic program through course selection and student scheduling
  • Guide students and families through every phase of the college application process — applications, essays, resumes, and scholarships
  • Advise seniors as they navigate admissions, deadlines, and next steps after high school
  • Schedule college representative visits and lead informational sessions on college planning, high school success, and transitions
  • Coordinate and administer standardized and end-of-semester testing (IOWA, PSAT, and Advanced Placement)
  • Serve as CCA’s College Board and Common App Coordinator and on the Academic Review Committee
  • Keep students, parents, and administration informed of academic progress, with timely notice of any concerns
  • Assist Upper School faculty with accurate attendance and grade records
  • Partner with the administrative team to support school events and the broader school community
  • Reflect the mission of the school by discipling students and helping them grow in their walk with Jesus

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • A follower of Jesus with a servant's heart and a commitment to Christian education
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a specific subject-related field
  • Three to five years of experience in a similar capacity, preferably in an academic environment
  • A strong understanding of all aspects of the college application and admissions process
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - courtesy, diplomacy, and tact with students, parents, and staff
  • Detail-oriented, creative, and able to manage multiple projects independently under deadline
  • Excellent grammar and writing skills for clear, professional communication
  • A strict commitment to confidentiality in all matters
  • Comfortable with FACTS/RenWeb, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the Office 365 suite - or the ability to learn quickly
