Job description


Under the supervision of the Gift Manager, the Gift Assistant is an hourly position responsible for servicing customers by maintaining the Farm retail stand in conformance with established Farm policies, strategies, and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs any functions necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of customer service and responsiveness to the needs of individuals, families, businesses, and organizations served by the Farm.

1) Provides courteous and attentive service to customers by answering questions, directing them to products, and keeping the Farm stand clean and orderly. Stays familiar with retail layout and products.

2) Processes incoming orders, unpacking, pricing, and back stocking. Processes online orders for shipment to customers.

3) Responsible for maintaining and stocking product displays. Ensures products are properly rotated, organized, stocked, labeled and clean.

4) Creates and processes gift baskets for customer orders. May assist with Delivery of gift baskets.

5) Places certain reorders and keeps the Gift Manager informed when other stock is running low.

6) Responsible for keeping the retail facilities clean and organized. Removes trash and recycling, sweeps floors, and dusts display areas.

7) Responsible for creating and maintaining informational signage under direction from the Gift Manager.

8) May assist with other duties as needed such as bagging groceries, sweeping, organizing and cart retrieval or gift basket delivery.

The above is a description of the ordinary duties of the position. It should be expected that from time to time, other duties both related and unrelated to the above may be assigned, and therefore, required.

Position Requirements:

Must demonstrate interpersonal and organizational skills. Some stocking experience preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and a point of sales systems preferred, but not required. Must possess strong work ethic be physically fit and able to stand and lift 30-50 lbs on a regular basis. US Driver's license preferred
