Job description

Validation Engineer (temporary)
We are currently in search of a Validation Engineer (temporary) to join our Research and Development department of the Marquardt Group in our location Cazenovia (USA).
The Validation Engineers will be responsible for design and process validation activities inautomotive and non-automotive projects, and other testing laboratory topics.
Validation Engineer Essential Responsibilities:
  • Participation in product reviews.
  • Review testing requirements and define testing methods through analysis and interpretation of customer and internal specifications and recommend improvements.
  • Definition of testing scope and contents.
  • Preparation and documentation of test specification, based on qualification test plan.
  • Planning and scheduling of testing activities in the lab for assigned projects (deadlines, resources, costs calculation).
  • Define, schedule and ensure preparing electrical test fixtures, test boxes, cable harnesses, software, etc. for use in testing activities.
  • Schedule and conduct electrical, mechanical and environmental tests of electro-mechanical switch products based on test requirements.
  • Documentation, analysis and evaluation of test results based on predefined acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain accurate records of all test results and report test results to the development team and customer.
  • Coordinate tests at external labs or other Marquardt test lab subsidiaries.
  • Support in the installation, validation, maintenance and repair of test equipment and components as required.
  • Develop work instructions for testing procedures and methods, test equipment, process optimization, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and internal customers to share information and overcome obstacles.
  • Follow and keep the 5-S culture in the lab.
  • Maintain the lab and equipment in a safe hazard free environment.
  • Any further tasks, as defined by testing laboratory management.

Validation Engineer Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in the automotive field is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience reading technical drawings, and engineering specs.
  • Experience with project planning a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office products.
  • Experience reading basic electrical schematics and performing measurements using DMM, oscilloscope, and power supply.
  • Ability to prepare complex written reports and visualize data to clearly communicate test results.

Travel:
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally stand and walk.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to use close vision, color vision, and depth perception for extended periods.

The base pay rangefor this role is between $65,000 and $85,000, and your base pay will depend onyour skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
**This position is temporary through the end of 2026. There might be a possibility to relocate to our Rochester Hills, MI location in 2027.**
