Job description

Event Manager

The JDK Group | Central Pennsylvania

Full-Time and Part-time opportunities- Competitive hourly wages based on leadership experience

Do you lead with confidence in fast-paced event environments where details matter and teams rely on you for direction?

At The JDK Group, we create elevated catering experiences for weddings, private celebrations, and corporate events across Central PA. Our Event Managers are the heartbeat of execution. They lead teams, manage timelines, protect food quality, and ensure clients feel confident and cared for.

This is a hands-on leadership role in the field. It is not an office position and not a sales role. If you take ownership, solve problems in real time, and lead from the front, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

Lead full on-site execution from arrival through breakdown

Manage timelines and service flow in coordination with Culinary Leads

Direct supervisors, servers, and bartenders with clear expectations

Coach in real time and uphold professionalism

Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients

Communicate with venues and vendors and resolve issues quickly

What It Takes

2+ years of banquet captain, catering lead, or hospitality leadership experience

Wedding or large-scale event experience preferred

Proven ability to lead teams of 10-30 staff

Strong decision-making skills under pressure

Confidence in client-facing environments

Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vans and box trucks

You stay calm under pressure.

You anticipate needs.

You take responsibility.

Schedule & Availability

Full-time position requiring regular availability for Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday event schedules, plus weekday responsibilities. Extended hours are expected during peak seasons (May, June, September, October, and December).

Why Join JDK

Clear path to Senior Event Manager

Work at high-end weddings and premium venues

Team-first culture focused on professionalism and accountability

Direct impact on client experience

At JDK, leadership happens in the field. If you want to run the timeline and set the tone for exceptional events, we would love to meet you.
