Position Title: Medical Coder - Full Time (FT)
Department: Health Information Management
Reports to: Director, Health Information Management

York General is expanding to meet the needs of our growing patient community-and we're looking for an on-site, full-time Medical Coder to join our award-winning Health Information Management (HIM) team.

What You'll Do
  • Review outpatient and/or inpatient records to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Assign appropriate ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT procedure codes following current standards
  • Collaborate with medical staff and other departments to resolve coding questions
  • Enter coding data into encoder and hospital information systems accurately and efficiently

What We're Looking For
  • At least 1 year of relevant outpatient ICD-10 and CPT coding experience or recent graduates of a coding/billing program (we're willing to train the right candidate)
  • Knowledge of E/M levels, injection and infusions and outpatient surgery coding is a plus
  • CCA or CCS credentialed candidates are preferred, but not required
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to teamwork
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to work on-site for at least the first six months, with potential for occasional remote work thereafter depending on skill level
