Manufacturing Engineer - Build the Future of Space-Ready Hardware
Location: El Segundo | Full-Time | Manufacturing & Production
At the cutting edge of deployable space hardware, we're building something that's never been done at scale: lightweight, ultra-thin deployable reflectors for spacecraft. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll turn that vision into reality-owning the process from hands-on prototyping to high-rate production.
This isn't a job for the sidelines. You'll be deep in the details, solving real-world problems, and helping us go from one successful build to thousands of flight-ready units.
What You'll Do
  • Own the production of ultra-thin deployable reflectors-starting with our first spacecraft and scaling for future missions.
  • Work closely with design, test, and engineering teams to create manufacturing processes that are precise, repeatable, and efficient.
  • Design for manufacturability-turning engineering theory into space-qualified hardware ready for real-world deployment.
  • Build and iterate quickly-hands-on in the lab, testing what works, improving what doesn't, and getting us flight-ready.
  • Play a critical role in helping us scale to high-volume, high-quality production without compromising performance.

What You Bring
  • Experience working with ultra-thin or lightweight materials, especially in precision applications.
  • Hands-on mindset-you're comfortable with tools, fixtures, and solving mechanical challenges in the field.
  • Demonstrated ability to build production processes from scratch, with a focus on repeatability, throughput, and quality.
  • Strong attention to detail, and the ability to balance speed with craftsmanship.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with deployable structures, solar sails, or aerospace-grade composites is a plus.
