Job description

Overview

Responsible for and has experience with basic sheet metal, riveting, assembly methods, and common shop practices. This position is also responsible for assembling, modifying, and installing aircraft components, sub-assemblies, and structural assemblies per customer requirements, and for identifying nonconforming parts, conditions, and manufacturing processes by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities
  • Works with blueprints, specs, and work orders and assembles to meet quality requirements.
  • Completes required data gathering to facilitate assembly progress.
  • Sets up and runs various shop equipment, such as squeezes and precision measuring tools, including drill motors and countersink cutters.
  • Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot any problems that occur, while continually looking for process improvements.
  • Performs any and all required rework or changes incorporated during assembly process.
  • Demonstrates the ability to assemble major components of sub-assemblies, major assemblies, as well as smaller bench work assemblies.
  • Moves and obtains correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies.
  • Demonstrates  a team player attitude and a willingness to assist others to help support continuous flow of product add willingness to take direction.
  • Works in timely manner to meet schedule requirements.
  • Ensures product is conforming before presenting to quality.
Qualifications

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specialized Training:

Six months vocational training.
