Job Description :Β 

Responsibilities:
Β Β Β  Design and implement map reduce jobs to support distributed processing using java, python, hive and pig; Ability to design and implement end to end solution.
Β Β Β  Build libraries, user defined functions, and frameworks around Hadoop
Β Β Β  Research, evaluate and utilize new technologies/tools/frameworks around Hadoop eco system
Β Β Β  Develop user defined functions to provide custom hive and pig capabilities
Β Β Β  Define and build data acquisitions and consumption strategies
Β Β Β  Define & develop best practices
Β Β Β  Work with support teams in resolving operational & performance issues
Β Β Β  Work with architecture/engineering leads and other teams on capacity planning
Β Β Β  Work with Site-Operations team on configuration/upgrades of the cluster
Β Β Β  Excellent communication skills
Qualification:
Β Β Β  MS/BS degree in a computer science field or related discipline
Β Β Β  8+ years' experience in large-scale software development
Β Β Β  ExperienceΒ  with data warehousing, dimensional modeling and ETL development
Β Β Β  Strong Java programming, shell scripting, Python, and SQL
Β Β Β  Strong development skills around Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive, Pig, Impala
Β Β Β  Strong understanding of Hadoop internals
Β Β Β  Good understanding of AVRO and Json
Β Β Β  Experience with build tools such as Maven
Β Β Β  Experience with databases like Oracle;
Β Β Β  Experience with performance/scalability tuning, algorithms and computational complexity
Β Β Β  Experience (at least familiarity) with data warehousing, dimensional modeling and ETL development
Β Β Β  Ability to understand and ERDs and relational database schemas
Β Β Β  Proven ability to work cross functional teams to deliver appropriate resolution
Β Β Β  Experience with open source NOSQL technologies such as HBase and Cassandra
Β Β Β  Experience with messaging & complex event processing systems such as Kafka and Storm
Β Β Β  Machine learning framework (Nice to have)
Β Β Β  Statistical analysis with Python, R or similar
