The not-for-profit, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital features a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department, with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and electronic medical record services. Our large, quiet labor/birthing rooms are private and located away from other patient care areas. The private patient rooms on the 5th floor Medical/Surgical Department boast views from every window.
Administration, staff, and medical providers are committed to delivering high quality, comprehensive health care services to the people of the Hi-Line communities of Montana.

About the role
This person will be responsible for the development, optimization, and use of clinical and operational data to support patient care, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and organizational decision making. Acts as a liaison between clinical departments, information systems, quality, and leadership to ensure data integrity, effective system use, and meaningful application of health information across the organization. This role's accountabilities encompass the following: Clinical and operational data analysis to identify opportunities for quality, safety, and efficiency improvement; Design, development, and maintenance of clinical reports, dashboards, and analytics; Support and optimization of health information systems, including MEDITECH Electronic Health Record (EHR); Collaboration with clinical leadership to improve workflows, documentation standards, and use of data in care delivery; support regulatory, quality, and performance reporting requirements; Ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with federal and state regulations; Education and support of clinical and administrative staff in effective and compliant use of health information systems; Implementing standardization driven by federal and state regulations within the clinical software applications, including 3rd party clinical applications supported by NMHC; Preparing clinical training documentation and standard content build within the system; Providing testing environments and maintaining and managing content for training; Providing training for new staff, providers as needed; Leading MEDITECH super user meetings in providing guidance on updates, best practices, and testing scenarios; Serving as a resource person for the daily operational issues of the organization's clinical systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in health informatics, healthcare information systems, nursing, or a related healthcare field required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Clinical licensure related to the degree is preferred but not required.
  • Two years' experience in healthcare information systems, clinical informatics, data analytics, or related healthcare IT role.
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Records; MEDITECH experience preferred.
  • Understanding of clinical workflows and interrelationships among departments such as Nursing, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, and ancillary services.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with reporting tools, data analysis, and interpretation of clinical and operational data.
  • Proponent for change with strong organizational skills, ingenuity, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clinical, technical, and administrative stakeholders.
  • Experience with Windows applications and Microsoft Office Suite.
