Job description

Vฤlenzยฎ Health is the platform to simplify healthcare - the destination for employers, payers, providers and members to reduce costs, improve quality, and elevate the healthcare experience. The Valenz mindset and culture of innovation combine to create a distinctly different approach to an inefficient, uninspired health system. With fully integrated solutions, Valenz engages early and often to execute across the entire patient journey - from care navigation and management to payment integrity, plan performance and provider verification. With a 99% client retention rate, we elevate expectations to a new level of efficiency, effectiveness and transparency where smarter, better, faster healthcare is possible.
About This Opportunity:
As a Manager of Healthcare Data Analytics, you will lead a team responsible for transforming complex healthcare data (claims and provider) into structured, reliable data assets. You'll partner closely with Product, Data Engineering, and Application Development to deliver high-quality analytics that power critical business decisions. This role blends people leadership, hands-on work, and is centered on SQL and Python, with an emphasis on data transformation, modeling, and solving complex data problems that support downstream analytics and business use.
Strong candidates bring deep experience working with healthcare data and advanced SQL, along with a track record of building and structuring datasets that are used across teams.
Things You'll Do Here:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Analysts by providing technical direction, reviewing deliverables, and guiding problem-solving approaches.
  • Define and execute the provider analytics roadmap in alignment with product and enterprise data strategy.
  • Set clear performance expectations, support professional development, and manage ongoing performance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in provider data, leading complex analyses to establish accurate provider identity, network status, affiliations, and hierarchy across multiple data sources.
  • Design and support scalable, production-grade analytics workflows using SQL, Python, and Databricks.
  • Ensure the accuracy, quality, and integrity of analytical outputs through strong validation and review practices.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Data Engineering, Product, Application Development, and Client Success to deliver solutions, resolve complex issues, and support strategic initiatives.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and data reliability.
  • Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies and best practices to strengthen provider data capabilities.
  • Manage and track work through project management tools such as Azure DevOps and Salesforce.
Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential duties.
What You'll Bring to the Team:
  • 5+ years of healthcare data analytics experience (provider, claims, network)
  • 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, or Economics) or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced SQL skills and working knowledge of Python, with experience supporting or reviewing production-level code.
  • Experience building and maintaining datasets used for analytics and business operations and ability to translate business needs into structured data solutions
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy, validation, and quality.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
A plus if you have...
  • Master's degree.
  • Experience with Spark or other distributed processing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Working knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD practices.

Where You'll Work: This is a fully remote position, and we'll provide all the necessary equipment!
  • Work Environment: You'll need a quiet workspace that is free from distractions.
  • Technology: Reliable internet connection-if you can use streaming services, you're good to go!
