Brown & Brown is seeking an Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our growing teams in Jacksonville and Tallahassee, FL.
The Employee Benefits Account Manager supports the maintenance, growth, and servicing of assigned employee benefits accounts by coordinating new business and renewal marketing, underwriting activities, and day-to-day client service needs. This role works closely with clients, carriers, and producers to provide benefit plan support, assist with claims and administrative issues, maintain accurate account records, and ensure timely processing of account activities. The Account Manager develops strong client relationships, applies technical knowledge of employee benefits coverages, and delivers responsive, high-quality service while supporting overall account retention and growth.
How You Will Contribute:
  • New Business marketing including, but not limited to rating and quoting employee benefit lines
  • Renewal marketing including, but not limited to rating and quoting assigned employee benefit accounts
  • New Business & Renewal Underwriting including, but not limited to gathering missing enrollment information and all underwriting status follow up
  • Work directly with group administrators to assist and educate on the proper administration procedures, State & Federal COBRA, additions & termination, and all other administrative procedures
  • Assist employees with unresolved claim issues while educating them on the claims processing system
  • Process daily mail, including faxes and e-mail, for assigned accounts
  • Answer and process all telephone requests for assigned accounts
  • Enter all required data into system to maintain current file data on all assigned accounts
  • Maintain & annually update the electronic account files
  • Maintain suspense or follow-up system for correspondence/requests

Skills & Experience to be Successful:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Good technical knowledge of coverage in all benefits line's insurance coverage
  • Good verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Good organization and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to initiate and foster client rapport
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Proficient with Office365 and/or Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Present a professional demeanor and attire while dealing with in person presentations and meetings

REQUIRED:
  • Must possess and maintain an active Florida 2-15 license in good standing.
