Join a Growing International Freight Forwarding Team!

We're seeking an experienced Air & Ocean Import/Export Operations Coordinator to manage international freight operations from booking through final delivery. This role is ideal for someone with a background in freight forwarding, NVOCC, customs brokerage, or international logistics operations who understands the complexities of global transportation and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will oversee air and ocean import/export shipments, coordinate with overseas agents, steamship lines, airlines, customs brokers, trucking companies, and customers, while ensuring shipments move efficiently and remain compliant with international trade regulations.


What You'll Do

  • Manage international Air and Ocean Import/Export shipments from booking through final delivery.
  • Coordinate daily shipment activities with airlines, steamship lines, trucking companies, customs brokers, CFS stations, and overseas agents.
  • Prepare, review, and process international shipping documentation including:
    • House & Master Bills of Lading
    • Air Waybills (HAWB/MAWB)
    • Commercial Invoices
    • Packing Lists
    • Arrival Notices
    • Delivery Orders
    • AES filings and other export documentation
  • Arrange bookings with airlines, ocean carriers, and transportation providers.
  • Monitor shipment milestones and proactively resolve transportation, documentation, customs, or carrier issues.
  • Coordinate Transborder Canada shipments while ensuring compliance with U.S. and Canadian customs requirements.
  • Work closely with customers to provide shipment updates, resolve operational issues, and deliver exceptional service.
  • Collaborate with customs brokers, warehouses, truckers, and overseas offices to ensure timely cargo movement.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records and update CargoWise throughout the shipment lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, export compliance requirements, TSA regulations, FMC guidelines, and international shipping procedures.
  • Support continuous process improvements to increase operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in international freight forwarding operations (Air and/or Ocean Import/Export).
  • Experience working for a freight forwarder, NVOCC, customs broker, or international logistics provider strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of international transportation, Incoterms, customs procedures, and import/export documentation.
  • Experience coordinating with airlines, steamship lines, overseas agents, customs brokers, and trucking companies.
  • Proficiency with CargoWise or similar freight forwarding software.
  • Strong understanding of international shipping documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced operations environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
