Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our Avon office. This position requires experience in both front-office and back-office medical assisting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong clinical and administrative abilities, and a commitment to providing outstanding patient care.

This role is essential to ensuring efficient office operations, maintaining clinic flow, and delivering a positive patient experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesFront Office Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and manage check-in and check-out processes.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate provider calendars.
  • Answer and route incoming phone calls professionally and efficiently.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and registration details.
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay balances.
  • Assist with daily cash reconciliation and payment processing.
  • Prepare and organize patient paperwork and office documentation.
  • Manage referrals and medical records requests.
  • Support prior authorization workflows as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
Back Office Responsibilities
  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, including blood pressure, height, weight, and pain scores.
  • Perform patient intake and update medical histories.
  • Document patient information accurately within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Prepare examination and procedure rooms.
  • Assist providers with patient care and clinic flow.
  • Coordinate patient follow-up care and communicate provider instructions.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.
General Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively with providers, medical assistants, front office staff, and leadership.
  • Support operational initiatives and special projects as assigned.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a patient-centered approach in all interactions.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant certification or healthcare-related education preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical workflows, and office procedures.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
