Job description

Good Samaritan Home of Quincy is currently seeking an Activity Director to join our growing team! 
 
Job Summary: The primary purpose of your job position is to direct the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating of activity programs in accordance with current existing federal, state, and local standards, as well as the established policies and procedures of this facility, and as may be directed by Administration, to assure that the spiritual, emotional, recreational and social needs of the residents are met/maintained on an individual basis.
 
Full-time position 8:00am - 4:30pm - (additional hours required when needed)
Pay Range: $41,000 - $44,000/year -  Bi-weekly pay

Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and implement a program of individual and group activities based on the residents’ interest and needs for the assigned unit (Full-time Activity Aide only).
  • Identify and document in the resident’s care plan the activity interests, needs, and problems, of the residents (Full-time Activity Aide only).
  • Maintain an activity participation record for each resident completed as directed by your supervisor. 
  • Attend resident care conferences for assigned unit as a member of the interdisciplinary team as able (Full-time Activity Aide only).
  • Complete Activity Assessment within 7 days of admission, updating quarterly and annually (Full-time Activity Aide only).
  • Carry out 1:1 visits as determined with Activity Director with the purpose of meeting resident’s activity interests on an individual basis (Full-time Activity Aide only).
  • Hold monthly neighborhood activity councils as directed by the Activity Director (Full-time Activity Aide only).
  • Assume responsibility for the proper care and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and decorations.
  • Maintain assigned storage areas as directed by the Activity Director.
  • Implement community outings as directed by the Activity Director (Full-time Activity Aide only).
  • Implement evenings, weekend functions, and special events as necessary (Full-time Activity Aide only).
  • Take part in in-service education and attend all in-service sessions relating to the Activity Program.
  • May be responsible for the supervision of volunteers as directed by your supervisor. 
  • Responsible for the safety of residents under his/her supervision.
  • Follow all facility safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist in all maintenance of activity equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
  • Must have at least a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have a  certificate of completion of the state approved Activity Director’s course
  • A minimum two years experience working in an activity program in the last 5 years, one year in long-term care.
  • You are passionate, ambitious, and computer-literate
  • Valid driver's license
