Pay Range: $77,500.00 - $90,00.00 Annual
Position is 5 days a week, 10 hour days, with on call for nights and weekends
Qualifications: What you need to bring
  • Two (2) years progressive upper-management experience OR previous management experience with two (2) years experience in Swift Driver Management, Planning or CSR position required. The Driver Management/Planner/CSR experience may be substituted with a minimum of two (2) years of Swift Driver experience in conjunction with a minimum of two (2) years of prior management experience. Transportation experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead others; above average verbal and written communication skills; ability to transfer knowledge; excellent organizational skills; professional appearance; detail-oriented; ability to take direction from managers; knowledge of the transportation industry preferred.
  • Bachelors in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Job Responsibilities: What you will do
To administer the direction and control of all personnel, assets and customers assigned to the on-site full service facility reporting to the Vice President Refrigerated Services.
  • Responsible for directly hiring and training department personnel in order to maximize operational efficiency. Lead and motivate direct reports to improve performance and build position depth. Conduct frequent evaluation of direct reports and provide coaching initiatives to assist in professional development opportunities.
  • Evaluate Driver satisfaction, retention and turnover; provide necessary tools to effectively perform position responsibilities to assist in increasing Driver retention and reducing overall turnover.
  • Monitor the productivity of the fleet, including miles and revenue; ensure proper utilization of equipment to meet overall productivity goals as well as organization objectives. Interact with DC Management Staff to ensure store service needs are being met on a daily basis and collaborate with Shop department personnel to ensure the organization's needs are met regarding equipment availability.
  • Responsible for implementing necessary departmental changes to improve/increase productivity and driver retention; make additional recommendations to executive management for possible improvements within overall organization. Utilize organizational reports in order to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Responsible for monitoring and reviewing department costs; maintain cost control in order to maximize the organization's bottom-line profitability; decrease terminal fuel expense through bulk-fuel usage as well as safety-related expenses.
  • Oversee facility maintenance and operations; manage on-site fueling and wash bay activities.
  • In conjunction with Customer, develop and maintain an effective yard management system.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining business relationships with customers; monitor and review customers' needs as well as general satisfaction with the business partnership.
  • Know, understand, enforce, teach and be an example of the organization's values, Guiding Principles and policies; ensure adherence by department personnel of all organization values, principles, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
