The Maintenance Team Lead is an hourly position at OPW Retail Fueling and is responsible for supervising maintenance technicians (indirectly) and ensuring all production equipment, machinery, and facility systems operate efficiently with minimal downtime. This role plays a critical part in supporting production goals through preventive maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership
• Lead and support maintenance technicians
• Provide hands-on guidance for complex repairs and troubleshooting
• Train team members on equipment, safety procedures, and best practices
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
2. Equipment & Machinery Maintenance
• Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs for production equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
• Ensure quick response to breakdowns to minimize production downtime
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment
3. Production Support
• Work closely with production supervisors to prioritize maintenance needs
• Ensure equipment reliability to meet production targets and deadlines
• Participate in root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures
4. Safety & Compliance
• Enforce workplace safety standards and OSHA regulations
• Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements
5. Maintenance Planning & Systems
• Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders
• Plan maintenance schedules to reduce disruption to production
• Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies
6. Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency and reliability
• Implement lean manufacturing and preventive maintenance strategies
• Track and improve KPIs such as uptime, MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), and MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures)
Required Qualifications
• No history of repeated or severe disciplinary action for violation of OPW company policy.
  • Ability to listen and take direction by supervisory staff is key.
  • Satisfactory completion of all required training programs as required by management.
  • Satisfactory completion of a 30-60-90-day review program
  • High school diploma or GED (technical degree preferred)
  • 5+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
  • 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Industrial machinery and automation
  • PLC systems (basic troubleshooting)
  • Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Preferred Qualifications
• Certification in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical
• Experience with PLC programming
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification
Work Environment
• Fast-paced manufacturing floor
• Exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
• Requires standing, lifting, climbing, and use of PPE
• May require rotating shifts, overtime, or on-call availability
