Job description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead a team of producers in one of the largest independent agencies in the United States. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a mentorship environment, excels at operational discipline, and understands how to build sales velocity through systems, coaching, and market alignment. The Sales Manager will play an integral part in new producer development as well as sales execution, and revenue growth for assigned producers.
This is an onsite position, and the ideal candidate will be based in either Raleigh, NC or Wilmington, NC. Regular travel to our offices throughout North Carolina is required.
Responsibilities:
Development amp; Training
  • Conduct structured, recurring development meetings with assigned producers.
  • Model and train the SIA Group Sales Process from prospecting to client onboarding.
  • Assess performance benchmarks and identify growth gaps and training needs.
  • Monitor progress through CRM data, pipeline performance, and lead generation activity.
  • Create and track individual development plans aimed at achieving validation in 24–36 months.
Performance Oversight
  • Own sales performance and activity metrics across assigned producers.
  • Use CRM and agency data to track conversion rates, appointment-setting, and retention.
  • Provide real-time support in field opportunities and renewal presentations.
  • Support producers in crafting compelling value propositions and presentations.
Sales Execution amp; Strategy
  • Lead strategic planning for individual and team pipeline growth.
  • Align target market messaging with producer prospecting activities.
  • Assist in designing customized engagement plans for high-potential opportunities.
  • Ensure sales processes and client service standards are followed.
  • Monitor training programs needed to help producers reach their potential from technical to sales training.
  • Attend virtual and in person sales calls with assigned producers.
Talent Support amp; Recruitment
  • Help identify and onboard future risk advisors in alignment with firm goals.
  • Contribute to fast-start programs for new team members.
  • Maintain strong internal collaboration with HR, marketing, and leadership teams.
Strategic Planning amp; Team Alignment
  • Set clear KPIs including organic growth, profitability, and retention benchmarks.
  • Participate in leadership planning sessions to inform territory growth and talent decisions.
  • Ensure documentation protocols and compliance standards are upheld.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Risk Consulting teams to support producer success.
  • Collaborate with the Executive team on team alignment, to include recommendations regarding individual performance and overall fit for the organization.
  • The Manager will work with the Executive Team on hiring or firing of producer positions.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of commercial insurance, group benefits, or financial sales experience, preferred.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring sales professionals, with a track record of building capability and meeting revenue goals.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • Current insurance licenses are preferred and will be required for the job.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with technology systems such as CRM systems and Microsoft Office products.
  • Effective communicator, motivator, and developer of people.
