SUMMARY:

Tandy is seeking a Merchandise Planning and Allocations Analyst who can manage high‑volume, high‑SKU inventory flow with precision and ownership. This role oversees allocation and replenishment for more than 4,000 SKUs across 100+ stores, ensuring products are stocked appropriately based on demand, store behavior, and category strategy. The Analyst will execute daily allocation decisions, maintain replenishment logic, support new product launches and promotions, and conduct structured SKU audits to keep stocking levels aligned with real‑world performance. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, comfort working with complex datasets, and a hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Allocation & Replenishment Ownership

  • Manage end‑to‑end allocation for 4,000+ SKUs across all stores, ensuring optimal coverage, sales performance, and inventory efficiency.
  • Maintain and refine replenishment logic, including min/max levels, store coverage rules, and category‑specific stocking strategies.
  • Monitor SKU performance and store behavior to adjust allocation decisions proactively.

New Products, Promotions & Seasonal Activity

  • Own initial allocations for new product launches and new stores, including ramp‑up logic and early performance monitoring.
  • Execute promotional allocations, including pre‑promotion bulk‑ups and post‑promotion replenishment recovery.
  • Support seasonal transitions and category resets with clear allocation plans.

SKU Audits & Data Integrity

  • Conduct rolling SKU audits by category to ensure stocking levels, store coverage, and replenishment logic remain aligned with demand.
  • Maintain product data integrity (item status, stocking flags, replenishment attributes) to ensure clean inputs for allocation decisions.
  • Identify and correct data inconsistencies that impact allocation accuracy.

Store & DC Partnership

  • Serve as the primary inventory point of contact for stores, providing clear communication on stock availability, DC constraints, and allocation decisions.
  • Support DC operations with item‑level and bin‑level analysis to improve flow and availability.
  • Gather store feedback and incorporate it into allocation logic where appropriate.

Analytics & Performance Insights

  • Analyze product, category, store, and regional performance to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Track key metrics including unit/dollar sales, sell‑through, sales‑to‑stock ratios, and GMROII.
  • Partner with Product Management and Finance to support forecasting and buy reviews with data‑driven recommendations.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Management, Retail Operations, Finance, and DC teams to align allocation decisions with consumer behavior and financial targets
  • Build scalable processes and calendars that improve cross‑functional visibility and execution.
  • Surface data‑driven insights that influence long‑term replenishment strategy, category plans, and inventory investments

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of retail merchandise planning & allocation, financial analyst, or data analyst experience, including direct, hands-on ownership of allocation or inventory management for a high-SKU-count assortment (thousands of active SKUs).
  • Strong analytical experience, with a demonstrated ability to translate large, complex datasets into sound allocation and inventory decisions.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong proficiency with Power BI (or comparable analytics/BI platforms) required; experience with SQL and with inventory/replenishment or planning systems (e.g., Netstock, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, or similar) is a strong plus.
  • Highly collaborative, with ability to work in partnership with all levels of the organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with both external and internal business partners.
  • Thrive in high-energy and fast-paced office environment, subject to quick turnaround situations.
  • Ability to organize work and manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Proven ability to take full ownership of a complex, high-volume body of work and drive it independently from day one, exercising sound judgment with limited oversight.
