Job Summary:
Glen Park Senior Living is seeking a highly strategic and experienced Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide executive-level financial leadership on a part-time or contract basis. Working collaboratively with the President, Executive Leadership Team, and current Chief Financial Officer, this individual will evaluate the organization's financial operations, strengthen internal controls, improve financial performance, and implement scalable financial processes that support continued growth across multiple assisted living communities.
The Fractional CFO will serve as a trusted executive advisor by providing objective assessments of financial operations, identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies, mitigating financial risk, and implementing best practices that enhance organizational performance while supporting Glen Park Senior Living's mission of providing exceptional care and service to its residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Partner closely with the current CFO to evaluate the effectiveness of all finance and accounting operations.
  2. Conduct a comprehensive financial diagnostic addressing processes, protocols, system, reporting structures internal controls an organizational workflow.
  3. Review all financial policies and procedures and recommend improvements aligned with industry best practices.
  4. Evaluate budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, revenue cycle, purchasing, payroll, accounts receivable, and financial reporting process
  5. Assess financial software, reporting tools, and system integrations to identify opportunities for automation and increased efficiency.
  6. Identify operational and financial risks and develop recommendations to strengthen compliance and internal controls.
  7. Develop a prioritized roadmap for process improvements with actionable recommendations, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  8. Assist current CFO in implementing approved process improvements and monitoring their effectiveness.
  9. Provide executive leadership with objective findings, strategic recommendations, and ongoing financial insights to support informed decision making.
  10. Collaborate with department leaders to ensure financial processes support operational excellence across the organization.
  11.   Analyze the financial performance of each assisted living community and provide recommendations to improve profitability, occupancy, operating margins, and overall financial performance.
  12.   Review resident census trends, occupancy rates, move-ins, move-outs, and revenue generation to identify opportunities for sustainable growth.
  13.   Evaluate labor costs, overtime, agency staffing expenses, payroll trends, and staffing ratios to improve workforce efficiency while maintaining quality resident care.
  14.   Ensure compliance with all applicable RCFE regulations, California labor laws, healthcare financial requirements, tax regulations, and industry standards.
  15.   Evaluate purchasing practices, vendor contracts, insurance programs, and expense management strategies to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  16.   Review capital expenditures, facility improvement projects, renovations, and acquisition opportunities by performing financial feasibility and return-on-investment analyses.
  17.   Develop executive dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) that provide leadership with timely financial and operational insights.
  18.   Evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting software, payroll systems, financial reporting tools, business intelligence platforms, and automation opportunities.
  19.   Assist with long-term strategic planning, organizational growth initiatives, and financial modeling for future expansion opportunities.
  20.   Present financial analyses, recommendations, and strategic initiatives to ownership and executive leadership.
  21.   Mentor and collaborate with accounting staff while fostering continuous improvement throughout the finance department.
  22.   Travel to Glen Park Senior Living communities as needed to evaluate financial operations and collaborate with local leadership.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate the following specific experience and qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of executive financial leadership experience.
  • Minimum 5 years serving as a Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Finance, or equivalent executive finance position.
  • Executive finance experience within assisted living, senior living, healthcare, skilled nursing, or multi-site healthcare organizations is required.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing financial operations for multiple locations or business entities.
  • Extensive knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial planning, treasury management, revenue cycle management, internal controls, payroll, purchasing, and financial reporting.
  • Proven success leading finance transformation initiatives, workflow redesign, automation projects, and operational improvements.
  • Experience developing financial dashboards, executive reporting, and performance metrics.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory compliance, risk management, and internal audit practices.
  • Experience presenting financial information and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, ownership groups, or Boards of Directors.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership in a consultative or fractional executive capacity.
Preferred Technical Skills
Candidates should possess experience with:
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel financial modeling
  • QuickBooks Enterprise or similar accounting platforms
  • Business intelligence and reporting tools (Power BI or equivalent)
  • Payroll and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Multi-entity financial reporting systems
  • Financial automation and workflow optimization software

Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation strongly preferred.
Compensation: 
Competitive and commensurate with experience. Compensation structure (hourly, monthly retainer, or project-based) will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and the agreed-upon scope of services.
Physical Requirements
This position requires prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and occasional travel between Glen Park Senior Living communities. Occasional lifting of files or office materials up to 25 pounds may be required.
