Job description

Job Overview:

The Director manages or directs health economics and outcomes research or other consulting projects ensuring client needs, agreed timelines and budgets are met. The Director may assume line management responsibilities, including assisting with staff recruitment. The Director takes an active role in ensuring the department's financial objectives are met, including developing new and repeat business opportunities.

    Summary of Responsibilities:

    • Work with Sales and Marketing and other CMA colleagues to prepare and present capabilities presentations.
    • Work with clients to define how the assignment will be performed and determine deliverables that will be presented by the Firm.
    • Prepares and reviews proposals for consulting services following standard formats used for previous engagements.
    • Identify sources and manages or directs the day to day collection of information through primary and secondary research. Seeks consults from colleagues, as appropriate, to ensure that appropriate quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques are performed allowing inferences and conclusions to be drawn.
    • Reviews and revises written memos, correspondence, and reports; conducts phone and in-person presentations to clients to describe data sources, explain patterns found in the data and indicate how findings and recommendations were developed.
    • Directs engagement - Ensures data are collected according to Fortrea's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and within agreed upon timelines and budgets, including coordinating the required input from clients, other Fortrea departments and external advisors and identifying when a project scope has changed and a change order is required.
    • Continuously evaluates financial status of client engagement to monitor and assess scope creep and budget deviations. Holds discussions with client to on scope creep and manages change orders, as appropriate.
    • Establishes business relationships with current clients that result in repeat
    • Continuously evaluate processes and areas for improvement, recommending new process for the ongoing development of consulting processes to ensure processes are continuously improved.
    • Advise Staff - Supports senior management in implementing practice policies. Acts as advisor to less experienced consulting staff, orienting them on firm policies and career development objectives.
    • Other Duties as assigned

    Qualifications (Minimum Required):

    • Graduate degree in business administration, public health, public policy, management, statistics, clinical science, health services research, health economics, or other relevant discipline from and outstanding program at a distinguished university.
    • Minimum Required - Undergraduate degree

    Experience (Minimum Required):

    • The Director typically has seven or more years of successful relevant research and/or consulting experience at Fortrea or in a similar environment and meets the performance criteria outlined by Fortrea.

    Skills/Aptitudes:

    • Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
    • Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong project management skills.
    • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple activities at one time and meeting short deadlines.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in various software programs, including Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint preferred.
    • Works effectively in a team environment.
    • Collaborates and works with peers to accomplish tasks assigned.
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage workload and meet project deadlines.

    Pay Range:$160,000 - $190,000
