Job description

Job Overview:
The Principal Consultant, Senior Director within Fortrea Consulting is an experienced consultant and researcher focused on strategizing and building client relationships across a broad spectrum of consulting areas (e.g., clinical development, real-world evidence (RWE), health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), market access, value demonstration, reimbursement strategy, regulatory strategy) to help clients plan, generate, and coherently demonstrate value across their product's lifecycle.
This role's main responsibilities include generating new and repeat business, managing client relationships, and oversight of client engagements, including research, analysis, synthesis, and communication. The Senior Director leads and supports business development efforts including attendance at conferences, proposal development, bid defenses, and capabilities presentations as well delivering on client engagements and participating in internal initiatives.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Business Development
  • Leading the identification and pursuit of new and repeat business
  • Managing key client relationships
  • Leading the scoping and budgeting of Consulting activities and areas in collaboration with Fortrea-wide opportunities
  • Driving meaningful proportion of Consulting's financial objectives

Practice & Company Initiatives
  • Leading internal innovation initiatives to respond to the market's and client's needs
  • Authoring industry-leading white papers in area of expertise

Client Delivery
  • Responsible for meeting client's needs
  • Managing project leaders responsible for the activities in the scope of work; advising and redirecting, as needed
  • Responsible for delivering strategic, methodological, and conceptual expertise in client engagements
  • Advising on scientific or technical matters within area of expertise
  • Responsible for communicating project findings to clients in an effective manner

People
  • Leading cross-functional teams including regulatory, commercial, and clinical
  • Setting and maintaining a standard of personal behavior and business ethics in line with Fortrea culture
  • Cultivating a positive environment and building positive connections with colleagues within Consulting and across Fortrea
  • Participating in hiring staff
  • And all other duties as needed or assigned

Qualifications (Minimum Required):
  • Graduate-level degree in discipline-relevant areas (e.g., public health, public policy, business, economics/statistics/data science, epidemiology, health economics, pharmacy, medical); Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience and successful project outcomes in lieu of educational requirements
  • Demonstrated success and scientific and technical expertise in at least one (1) area of RWE, HEOR, market access, value demonstration, reimbursement strategy, regulatory strategy
  • Has established and maintained client relationships
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Team player mentality
  • Travel internationally to support the business, as needed (15%-50%)

Experience (Minimum Required):
  • At least 10 years of experience in consulting and in at least one (1) related discipline (e.g., RWE, HEOR, market access, value demonstration, reimbursement strategy, regulatory strategy)
  • At least 8 years of experience managing client relationships and leading cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications Include:
  • Doctoral level degree may be preferred, with scientific or technical knowledge and know-how in line with client expectations
  • Strong business development, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Able challenge conventional thinking to solve client issues and develop solutions
  • Orientated towards working across various disciplines and teams to achieve business and client objectives

Pay Range: $180,000-$200,000 (The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity)
