Position Summary

Introducing Nestle Purina's new Batavia, Ohio, factory - just 30 miles east of Cincinnati. This world-class factory will be built from the ground up to produce a wide variety of some of the most trusted and beloved pet care brands in the U.S. Our passionate team in Batavia will work in an environment that values safety, the latest technology in manufacturing and a culture of learning. As the Food Safety Technician, you will be responsible for managing and supporting Food Safety programs, including but not limited to Integrated Pest Management Program (IPM) and HACCP Pre-Requisite Program. You will conduct routine audits of the facility and outside storage facilities including food safety and the warehouse. You will also monitor physical, chemical, and biological food safety hazards and implement control measures. 

The schedule for this position will be 6am-6pm, operating on 2-2-3 schedule (two days on, two days off, three days on).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and administer the factory sanitation programs to ensure that all products are manufactured in a sanitary environment
  • Provide support and guidance to all departments regarding Food Safety issues
  • Help manage the factory's integrated pest management program in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Collaborate on HACCP verification activities
  • Support internal and external audits as well as corrective action programs
  • Coordinate training and development of employees for all factory food safety programs
  • Manage chemical supplies and sanitation services including waste removal, custodian, yards, and grounds

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 + years' experience working in quality, food safety, pest control or sanitation within a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment

Other

  • Certified Pest Management Professional License in the State of Ohio preferred. Must obtain Ohio license within 3 months if not already certified.

The approximate pay range for this position is $45,000 to $59,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. Nestle offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with Company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits.
