Aerotek is currently hiring for a chocolate manufacturing company near Shrewsberry & Affton in southwest St. Louis County!

Job Description

The Production Operator works on a manufacturing line in a food production facility, learning and performing the full process from mixing ingredients to packaging finished products.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a production line and learn the complete process, including mixing, middle processing steps (such as panning, portioning, baking, extracting, or grinding), and final packaging.
  • Monitor automated machines throughout the production process and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Perform machine setups and changeovers for different products on the line
  • Measure and weigh product into pre-made boxes with liners, ensuring accuracy and consistency in packing.
  • Verify that all packaged boxes have the correct labels placed in the proper location, ensuring compliance with product and regulatory requirements.
  • Measure out ingredients on pallets according to precise batch sheets and pour ingredients into blenders or conches, following written instructions and signing off on paperwork.
  • Complete all required production paperwork accurately and on time, including batch records, quality checks, and production logs.

Essential Skills

  • At least 6 months of manufacturing experience in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience performing setups and changeovers on machines
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Comfort with standing for long periods during 12-hour shifts.
  • Ability to follow precise written instructions, batch sheets, and standard operating procedures.
  • Willingness and drive to advance within the company and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Ability to adhere to strict food safety, health, and safety guidelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous food manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Comfort working as a floater across multiple lines and roles, if assigned.
  • Openness to learning new processes and cross-training in different areas such as mixing or team lead responsibilities

Work Environment

  • All team members must follow strict food safety and health guidelines and wear required attire, including hairnets, beard nets as applicable, steel-toed shoes, and lab coats.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.50/hr.
