Who You Are:

You are detail-oriented, organized, compassionate, and comfortable managing a high-volume, multi-jurisdictional caseload in a fast-paced retail/fashion environment.

The Leave Coordinator supports Capri Holdings' fully in-house Leave of Absence program for employees across the U.S. and Canada. This role is responsible for day-to-day leave case management, providing high-touch support to employees, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and upholding Capri's commitment to a best-in-class employee experience.

What You'll Do:

Leave Case Administration

  • Administer end-to-end leave cases including:
    FMLA, ADA, state-protected leaves, short-term disability, long-term disability, parental leaves, personal leaves, and Canadian provincial leave programs.
  • Conduct intake, determine eligibility, prepare documentation, track leave timelines, and manage return-to-work coordination.
  • Ensure all case decisions, communications, and documentation are accurate, timely, and compliant with policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and case notes in Capri's leave tracking systems and internal documentation tools.

Employee Experience & Communication

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and managers throughout the leave process, providing clear, empathetic, and supportive guidance.
  • Assist with rewriting and updating leave communications as Capri enhances its internal leave processes.
  • Educate employees and managers on requirements, timelines, benefits implications, and responsibilities related to leaves of absence.
  • Provide consistent, timely updates to employees and HR partners to support seamless leave and return-to-work experiences.

Coordination With HR, Payroll & Risk Management

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, Payroll, HRIS, and Benefits team members to ensure smooth operations across the leave lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with the Risk Management team to ensure employees out of work due to workers' compensation are placed on the appropriate leave type.
  • Support Payroll with accurate information for benefit deductions, pay continuation, and time tracking during leaves.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. federal regulations (FMLA, ADA), state protected leave laws, and Canadian provincial leave requirements.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready files and secure documentation, upholding strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Identify trends or potential compliance concerns and escalate them to the Leave Manager as appropriate.

Process Improvement Support

  • Assist the Leave Manager in executing the redesign of Capri's in-house leave processes, including simplifying workflows and enhancing employee-facing clarity.
  • Participate in rewriting policies, templates, letters, emails, and resource materials to ensure consistency and readability.
  • Support system enhancements and the evaluation or implementation of future leave management software tools.

You'll Need to Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in leave administration, HR operations, benefits, or related field.
  • Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, state leave programs, and/or Canadian provincial leave laws preferred.
  • Experience in a multi-state or retail environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in HR systems; Workday experience is beneficial.
