What is a flexible remote creative?

Flexible Remote Creatives are professionals who work in creative fields—such as design, writing, marketing, or multimedia production—while having the flexibility to work from any location and often set their own schedules. They typically collaborate with clients or teams virtually, using digital tools to complete projects and communicate. This flexibility allows for a better work-life balance and the ability to take on diverse projects from around the world. Many Flexible Remote Creatives are freelancers or work for companies that support remote work policies.

How do flexible remote creatives typically collaborate with clients and team members despite working remotely?

Flexible Remote Creatives often use a variety of digital communication tools such as Slack, Zoom, and project management platforms like Trello or Asana to stay connected with clients and teammates. Regular virtual check-ins and scheduled brainstorming sessions help ensure creative alignment and timely feedback. While the remote nature of the role offers autonomy, successful collaboration requires proactive communication, sharing drafts or concepts early, and being responsive to feedback. Many teams also hold virtual creative reviews to foster a sense of community and encourage idea sharing, which supports both personal growth and project success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a flexible remote creative, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Flexible Remote Creative, you need a strong portfolio demonstrating creative skills in design, writing, or multimedia, along with proficiency in your chosen discipline. Familiarity with digital collaboration tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Workspace, and project management platforms is typically required. Outstanding time management, self-motivation, and communication skills help you excel in remote environments and dynamic projects. These abilities ensure you can deliver high-quality work independently, adapt to changing client needs, and collaborate effectively from any location.

Job description

You'll own the creative behind everything that brings people to WallStreetQuants - organic short-form on TikTok and Instagram, paid social ads on Meta and TikTok, and the strategy that ties it all together. You're not just making content; you're building the system that turns attention into customers.
What you'll actually do
  • Own the creative strategy across organic and paid: hooks, angles, formats, narratives, what we test next
  • Write scripts and briefs for short-form video (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) and ad creative
  • Ship volume: we want 30-50 ad creative variations per month and consistent organic output. Iteration is the job.
  • Work closely with our media buyer to read performance data and feed it back into the next round of creative
  • Stay deep in the platforms - trends, formats, what's working for adjacent niches, what the algorithm is rewarding this week

Requirements
What we're looking for
  • A portfolio that shows range: talking-head, voiceover/b-roll, testimonial, meme-edit - not one signature style
  • Comfort talking in performance terms (CTR, CPA, ROAS, hook rate, hold rate) and reading ad account data
  • You've personally shipped hundreds of ad variations, not dozens
  • Strong writing - hooks, scripts, captions. Most creative wins or loses in the first three seconds, and that's writing
  • You understand the full funnel: that ad creative interacts with landing page, offer, and audience, and you ask about all three
Nice to have
  • Background or genuine interest in markets, trading, quant finance, or technical subjects - you don't need to be a quant, but you should be able to learn this material fast and not make us cringe
  • You've built or grown your own creator account

Benefits
  • $100-150K compensation
  • Full remote, flexible hours, async-first culture
  • Real ownership - you're shaping the channel, not executing someone else's brief
