Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking to fill a Project Management/Principal Project Management position with our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Rancho Bernardo or Palmdale, CA. Telecommute/remote is not an option for this position. This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80 bi-weekly work week for Rancho Bernardo, or a 4/10 work week for Palmdale.

Responsibilities may include the following:

  • Support of Mission Assurance staff meetings including meeting facilitation, chart compilation, and action item tracking

  • Data aggregation, and reporting on Mission Assurance charging metrics and financials

  • Support of change request (CR) process and collection of impacts

  • Updates and improvements to team SharePoint site and knowledge base resources

  • Support of new business proposal writing and team organization

  • Assessment of project issues and development of resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Development of mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

  • Support of monthly EAC updates, EVCRs, VARs, IMS tasking

  • Weekly name-run support

  • Conduct business travel up to 25% of the time from assigned work location to Palmdale or Rancho Bernardo, CA.


This will be filled with a Project Management or Principal Project Management position

Basic Qualifications for Project Management position

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with 2 years OR master's degree with 0 years relevant work experience in project management

  • Skilled use of Microsoft Office products

  • Experience with project management principles

  • Active DoD secret clearance and ability to obtain special program access


Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Management position

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with 5 years OR master's degree with 3 years relevant work experience in project management

  • Skilled use of Microsoft Office products

  • Working knowledge and experience with project management principles

  • Active DoD secret clearance and ability to obtain special program access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in business management/business administration, or STEM degree

  • Active DoD top-secret clearance

  • Current special program access

  • Project integration experience

  • Experience risk/issue/opportunities

  • Experience/certification - Control Account Manager (CAM)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

  • Proposal writing experience

  • Aerospace and/or defense industry experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
